All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Hi, My name is Izzy, I am an amazing little girl!  I am pretty fearful and growly when we first meet, but give me a few minutes and I will come back to you for pets and belly rubs....That means we are now besties!!!  I am really good at outside potties, but DO NOT ignore my signs!  I am the goodest girl and will go in my crate without a fuss anytime you want me to, but please don't leave me there too long, I get really sad in there.  I don't mind dogs of any size and cats don't phase me, I can take them or leave them!  Mostly, I just want to find my human that wants to hang out with me ALL the time, is that too much to ask?

DO NOT PLAN TO CRATE THIS GIRL FOR MORE THAN A FEW HOURS AT A TIME!  SHE WILL NOT GO TO A HOME THAT PLANS TO CRATE FOR LONG PERIODS.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
