All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Found roaming, with matted hair, long nails the person who found him said she took him to be scanned for a chip and there was none.  A neighbor took the little dog in and posted 'found' flyers hoping to find his family.  If no owner came forward, they planned to keep him.  They had him about 4 days and during this time, this boy developed a 'protective nature' of the family's other dog.  He became 'possessive' and tried to prevent the family from interacting with THEIR OWN DOG!

They reached out to us for help.  We agreed to help.  Immediately to the vet... and low and behold, the dog was found to be chipped.  We opened a 'found dog' report with the chip company.  after no owner came forward, we moved forward with his neuter.

Yorkie Rescue Houston is a 501(c)(3) charity as defined by the I.R.S.  All donations* are deductible within the limits set by them.  Your donations go toward medical exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, medications, Heartworm treatment and prevention, supplies, boarding, training.  We rely  100% on donations from the public.  Please consider a becoming a sponsor or monthly donor!  You can send us donations via paypal to donate@yorkierescuehouston.org

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
