All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Zoey came to rescue because a concerned individual picked her up when they found her running down the middle of a road. This sweet girl was hungry, thirsty, hair matted and long curled nails.  She had to be in pain trying to walk with nails so long some had twisted. Her bottom was a large knot of matted hair that made it difficult for her to potty. Despite her condition this little lady was super sweet and friendly but a little timid. She has gotten comfortable now and is a lover. She loves hugs and will hug back with both paws. It’s the cutest thing. She loves to go for walks, play with toys, or cuddle in bed. She’s just happy to be with her person. She’s very attentive and listens well. Zoey needs someone to show her what it means to be loved.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
