All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Nikko was abandoned with his friend Chino and taken in by a good samaritan.  They were not able to keep him long term due to unfriendly dogs in the home.  His jaw was broken and needed surgical repair.  He received medical attention, flea prevention, a badly needed dental, vaccines, surgery  to repair his mouth/jaw and is now undergoing heartworm treatment, as sadly, he is heartworm positive.  This precious boy was neglected every day of his life.

He is coming out of his shell and is learning how to play again.  His little face is still crooked, and always will be.  But at least he can eat now (soft food ONLY)

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
