All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This little nugget was surrendered when was found abandoned in a remote area of SW Houston.   Finder  brought him home and kept him safe and dry.  No tag/collar/chip.  Posts to local social media Lost & Found groups went unanswered.  He was badly matted and had to be shaved down.  He had fecal matter blocking his ability to eliminate.  Once this guy was groomed, we discovered he was adorable!!

We decided on 'Jackson' and he seems to like that!

Jackson is a people dog.  He loves to be with his humans.  He's not a fan of being in a 'pack'  so he spends his time in the office of his caregiver just being chill.  

Jackson is very friendly and quite a lover.  He will potty when we take him out. and appears to be housebroke.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
