All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Meet Toby!

Toby’s journey hasn’t been easy. Confiscated by HPD and left in the shelter from February 26 to March 6, nobody came for him. This sweet boy suffered severe neglect—he had significant hair loss from fleas, painful skin infections from constant scratching, and bilateral ear infections.

But Toby is a fighter! He’s been receiving the medical care he desperately needed, including medications, preventatives, and ongoing treatments for his skin and ears. With love and patience, he’s making a great recovery.  Toby wears a belly band in the house but always willing to go outside to potty.   Toby loves being where ever YOU are.  He loves to be with his people.  

Toby is a loyal and affectionate companion who deserves a second chance at a happy life. He thrives in a calm environment and would do best in a home without young children. If you're looking for a devoted friend who will always be by your side, Toby might be the perfect match!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
